Singapore, Turkish, Copa and more added to PreCheck

The TSA PreCheck program, which gives ‘trusted travelers’ an easier path through airport scanning, has just added 7 new airlines, including three significant international carriers: Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Copa.

The other added airlines are smaller carriers: Silver Airways, Swift Air, Dominican Wings and InterCaribbean Airways.

PreCheck members go through special lanes at security, don’t have to pull out their bags of liquids or laptops, and can keep on their shoes, belts and light jackets.

Signing up for PreCheck, which costs $85 for five years, may become even more significant as TSA looks at tightening rules, and requiring all electronics bigger than a phone, as well as all food items, to be pulled out for scanning. TSA officials have indicated the new rules won’t apply to PreCheck.
