Cheetos and Ripley’s: Can orange dust be art?

You are possibly not ready for this. Cheetos, the orange-dusted crispy snack, and Ripley’s, the Believe it or Not people, are asking you to send them any odd-shaped Cheeto that reminds you of something else.

Believe it or Not, they’re putting them in a museum.

For the second year in a row, the two companies are inviting photos and actual snacks that look like something else, with $150,000 in prizes at stake. Two winners are selected each week in the contest that runs from May 29 to August 6, with $5000 prizes, one for regular flavor and one for spicy. The final winner gets $50,000 and the winning Cheeto stays on display at Ripley’s in Times Square, New York.
