When you get to be 175, people let you do what you want, and Copenhagen’s iconic Tivoli is using its birthday next year to kick off a move toward year-round fun.
The gardens and amusement park are normally open only for the summer, and for brief periods around Halloween and Christmas. But next February it will open for three weeks that include a school break and a number of other events including Valentines’s day and Chinese New Year.
The park’s management hopes that the response will be strong and lead eventually to it becoming a year-round attraction. The park employs 3,700 workers, and gets about 4.6 million visitors a year, over 2/3 of them locals.
