The Ceiba tree is the is the national tree of Puerto Rico. It is a native to tropical climates, and some species can grow up to 230 feet. The are highly revered for their strength and the amount of shade the provide in hot climates. In addition to their height, Ceiba’s also grow to impressive circumferences. To me, the most interesting part of the Ceiba is their root system, which grows both above and below the ground’s surface, presenting beautiful, intertwined patterns.
