More and more people are finding their vacations coming under the influence of their social media habits, either choosing places and activities that will make good posts, or spending time online when they might be ‘having fun.’
Both, the study says, are due to FOMO, or Fear Of Missing Out.
That translates into pressure to post while on vacation, keeping up a stream of activity and adventure for the feed, and into pressure to take more unusual of adventurous vacations, packed with things that post better than a selfie in front of the Empire State building.
