United Airlines, which has generally been adding overseas links, will add four new routes for next summer, and will lengthen the summer season for some others.
The new routes, two from New York/Newark, one from Washington, and one from San Francisco. The first three will start in May, and San Francisco in June. The Newark routes add two new cities for United, Reykjavik, Iceland and Porto, Portugal, where UAL will be the only U.S.-based carrier. Washington gets a flight to Edinburgh, and San Francisco will be linked to Zurich.
On several of its existing routes, United will extend the season until Oct. 26, and start in April rather than May. They include Chicago O’Hare-Edinburgh, San Francisco-Munich, Chicago O’Hare-Dublin and Washington Dulles-Lisbon.
