A recent visit to the National Railway Museum in York, England revealed an unusual exhibit, compared to the normal steam and diesel leviathans.
The Soyuz TMA-19M descent module is the capsule that carried Tim Peake and two companions back to Earth after their mission to the International Space Station on 18 June 2016.
The actual capsule in original condition, having survived high speed re-entry of the earths atmosphere was on display, within almost touching distance for all to see.
It was a very impressive sight, made even more real by the obvious scorching and damage to its exterior shell.
I took a series of images to show the capsule in its real condition ( and also added a few of my favourite traditional museum exhibits, in a sort of contrast ).
As a fan of the history of space travel, this is an exhibit I would have loved to have seen in person. Many thanks for sharing it, Paul!
