A young French couple are now into the second week of a trek that will take them, in 500 days, from Sagres in Portugal to Istanbul, passing through 17 countries, 120 natural parks and hundreds of towns and villages.
They’re calling their trek Deux Pas Vers l’Autre, or Two Steps Toward Others, and say they “have the double objective of promoting walking in Europe as an activity for the younger generations, as well as social, cultural and environmental sustainability, involving local populations and minimising the ecological footprint…”
Marie and Nil, who haven’t posted surnames, are a former HR director and a fashion photographer. They can be followed on their website where there are interviews, photos, logs and even a live updater on where they are today.
Brilliant stuff ! In the footsteps of Nicholas Crane ” Clear Waters Rising” and Patrick Leigh-Fermor. Plenty of time for thought 😍
