‘Scrap Metal Poet’ turns trash into art

A Brittany sculptor who says he started out of boredom has spent 30 years turning scrap of all kinds into a fantastic world of cottages, fantasy constructions, towers and more.

Robert Coudray, who’s been dubbed the ‘Scrap Metal Poet’ has been letting his imagination go its own way, covering about 2.5 acres in the village of Lizio with some 15 towers, 70 animated figures and more.

It’s open to the public now, and attracts about 35,000 visitors a year—but they are seeing a work in progress. Coudray says “I have a vision of where I want to go and that’s going to take another 15 to 20 years.” For more images of his project, click HERE
