Flying cars go on sale

Dutch company PAL-V says it’s ready to sell its first production-model flying cars, with 90 of its new Liberty Pioneer model to be delivered in 2020, although no price was announced.

The announcement, at the Geneva International Auto Show, says that the car “is for those that want to be part of a unique group that writes history with us. They will be at the forefront of a mobility revolution, where we will no longer have cars that can only drive. They will be the first carflyers in their country, FlyDriving to any destination.”

While the company says the launch will “open the next chapter of personal mobility,” it’s not clear that buyers will be able to do very much with the vehicle, as few countries have created rules or registration procedures for their operation, or determined what kind of operator license would be needed.
