The company that brings us airport bins covered with ads is now ready to add anti-microbial agents to the plastic they’re made of, starting with thirty U.S. airports this summer.
That’s good news for those who look at all the stuff dumped in trays and wonder where it was before it hit the tray. In theory, it should now not matter as SecurityPoint Media’s new bins come on line. Company president Joseph Ambrefe says “Each tray has 100% antimicrobial protection. The additive is imbedded in the manufacturing of the tray as well as the substrate on each tray. And the antimicrobial protection will not wear off or fade away.”
The trays are already in use at Denver, Knoxville, Minnieapolis/St. Paul, Nashville, Tampa, Washington Reagan and Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport and are scheduled for 15 more shortly.
