Just when it seems there’s nothing left to be surprised about, except in politics, you find something like dog surfing. Yes, just like it says. Dogs on surfboards, dressed in colorful costumes, competing for prizes.
The event has been held for several years, and draws over 4,000 visitors to Surf City at Huntington Beach to watch the competition among the wave-riding dogs and their somewhat odd but enthusiastic human companions.
There’s probably a lot more that could be said about this, but we won’t be doing that. We’ll turn that over to The Independent (UK) which also has a trove of pictures of the dogs and their costumes.
