Situated off the Incal Trail, close to Machu Picchu, this Inca Ruin rests on a steep hill overlooking the Urubamba River. The site is situated at 2650 m (about 8700 feet) above sea level and the path leading to it is steep, so getting there is quite a workout.
Wiñay Wayna translates into “forever young”. The site contain housing ruins and agricultural terraces and makes a nice place to stop and rest when traveling to Machu Picchu.
