Well, for the moment, ‘Lion Prince’ might be more accurate, but Seville’s new and cute white lion cub has been named, in Spanish, White King. He’s the first white lion ever born in a Spanish zoo.
The cub is, for now, surrounded by human interest and love, because his mother appeared to have been quickly rejected by his mother, a four-year-old native of Thailand, who gave birth to the hefty baby after over two weeks in labor.
At three days, the mother was not feeding or grooming White King, and zoo officials took over the mothering chores for the cub who was showing symptoms of hypothermia and hypoglycemia. With treatment and food, he quickly recovered. Zoo officials expect to eventually reunite White King with his parents, but must choose the moment carefully.
I can see thousands of people seeing your cute photo and saying, “I want one!”.
