Grand Teton National Park was formed by the incorporation of a number of private ranches into a public park.
One of these ranches was the Bar Flying U Ranch, owned by J. Pierce Cunningham. Mr Cunningham originally opposed the expansion of Grand Teton National Park, but later became an advocate for the idea. He crafted a petition that was signed by almost 100 ranchers who agreeed to sell their land.
Only the ruins of this cabin remain on the property, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. But its views to the Teton Range are incredible!
