Royal Caribbean Group, parent of the cruise line, is offering interest-free loans to some of the travel advisors and agencies that normally help the company fill its huge cruise ships.
RC is putting up up to $40 million for the project, which it calls “Pay it Forward,” with individual agencies able to apply for up to $250,000 in interest-free for three years. The company says it hopes the lifeline will keep the agencies open and focused on sales rather than survival.
Earlier in the year, Royal Caribbean offered the agencies a different kind of support, assigning staffers to help agencies navigate applications for Cares Act funds.
