Empire Mine State Park in Grass Valley, California presents the history of one of the state’s last functioning gold mines. The park has been able to preserve some of the mine’s equipment, including a huge ore crusher that was used to prepare mined rocks for refining.
DrFumblefinger explores the architecture in “Downtown Casablanca”. Most were constructed in the period between WWI and WWII, and show art deco and art nouveau features combined with Moroccan/Moorish features.
A delicious lunch was capped by a pleasant young Berber girl pouring mint tea for us.
