California river cruise features wine stop

American Cruise Lines is expanding its portfolio of cruises on U.S. rivers to include a very California experience including wine and cooking events and a stop at California’s Napa Valley wine territory.

The 8-day cruises, starting in February, will also include visits to Vallejo, Sacramento and Stockton, with various day trips at each stop, including a NASCAR-style driving experience at Stockton and a visit to Sacramento’s California State Railroad Museum. The San Francisco stops include Fishermen’s Wharf and Alcatraz.

The ship for the trip is American Jazz, which can accommodate 190 guests, who will pay $6,095 and up for the cruise. American Cruise Lines mainly operates in rivers of the Northwest.
