Uber, the ride-sharing company that’s branched out into food delivery now wants to sell you international rail and bus tickets, including Eurostar, through a new alliance with Omio, a German booking site also known as GoEuro. Initially, the combo will be offered to UK customers.
Omio’s listings will be accessible and bookable through an updated version of the Uber app that will be in place by the end of August. Presumably, you could book a single journey with an Uber to the bus or train and then another to your hotel in a new city—and then have dinner delivered.
Unclear yet is whether, especially when the link is extended to other countries, Uber and Omio plan to make airfares available through the Uber app, and whether Omio’s search is robust enough to find all the offerings of better-known airfare searches.
