A rainy day can dampen your mood and force you to cancel your plans for the time being. Passing the time during a rainy day in a campervan is possible thanks to the fun tips outlined below!
Board Games
Puzzles and board games are the classic activities of choice for passing a wet day in your campervan hire. They help you bond with your family while offering a welcome distraction from cancelled plans. The options are endless when it comes to board and card games such as Uno, Monopoly, chess or whatever else you can think of!
Take A Walk
Sure, heading out in the rain may not be everyone’s idea of a fun time, but it helps pass the time in an enjoyable manner. A refreshing rainy day walk can help boost your mood and clear your head. Travelling with young kids is especially hard because they have bundles of pent up energy. Heading out on a wet afternoon with youngsters helps them blow off steam and energy! Just make sure when you’re done playing that everyone dries off and stays warm with a hot drink.
Do Fun Crafts
If you love crafts or creating things, a rainy day is the perfect time to knit, sew, paint or fold origami shapes! Fortunately, there are a large number of compact craft activities that you can bring with you in your campervan to make use of the limited space. Plus, everyone can take a souvenir in the form of a finished craft to remind them of the fun trip they had!
Watch Films!
Watching films or favourite series are a great way to pass time when you’re stuck inside of your campervan. Just make sure to pack an appropriate number of films for your trip before leaving home! Classics like “Singing in the Rain” are always a safe bet as they appeal to all age groups. Just get some popcorn and a warm blanket, and you can enjoy the rest of the day!
Note: Make sure if you’re using a battery-operated device that it has enough power to get through the film. Likewise, if you choose to stream, you will need a solid Wi-Fi connection. Lastly, make sure that you have adequate campervan insurance coverage to protect your electronics in case of theft or damage while travelling.
Choose A Good Book
Reading is a wonderful way to pass the time and enjoy the wet day. Though digital books are convenient and fun, they’re not the best for campervan travel. However, if you have any older physical books that still make your heart sing, bring them along on holiday! Nothing beats curling up with a favourite story and going on an armchair adventure from the comforts of your dry indoor environment. Of course, if you still prefer a lighter load, consider packing up a Kindle or your tablet instead of a traditional hard copy of a book. Kids will have different needs than yours when it comes to reading materials. Make sure to pack some fun magazines or comic books that they will find enjoyable as they may not feel comfortable reading chapter books or classic novels.
