Amtrak’s wizards have magicked up a marketing ploy that’s sure to appeal to the legions of Harry Potter fans along the Northeast Corridor, with four trains dressed out in a full-on Harry Potter theme.
The trains won’t leave from Platform 9-3/4, however, but will ply the rails from Boston to Washington, DC through June 25. Aside from the exterior trim, the trains feature inside decals of Hogwarts characters, from Harry Potter to Draco Malfooy and Albus Dumbledore, along with a swirling clock too show time passing along the route.
The promotion is linked with the Broadway production of the Harry Potter sequel show, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which has been running on Broadway since 2018. During the promotion, ticket purchasers for the show will be able to receive Amtrak Guest Rewards or use them to buy tickets.
