The Tour de France, arguably the world’s most famous bicycle race, is getting a few changes this year and next, including an Olympics-related detour.
The race, actually a series of stages or events in different terrain, normally ends in Paris, going down the Champs Elysees, but because of Olympic preparations in Paris that will make it difficult to operate other events, this year’s race will end in Nice on July 21st. This year’s starting point, on June 29, will be in Florence, Italy.
Next yea will bring a new starting point. Although the race has started in Spain twice in recent years, it has never been to Barcelona. The 2026 race will start in Barcelona. Two complete stages will take place in Barcelona and the third will begin there.
