I’ve been fortunate in my travels, with few lost bags over the years. Only ever had one bag significantly delayed, but it did get to me just in time to go canoeing on the Yukon River — a story for another day.
Maria Dellios of Tucson had her bag returned to her – TWENTY years after it had been lost. That’s right, 20 years later. No one knows quite what happened to the bag during that 20 year interval, but it was returned to her contents intact.

Do you think there’s hope, then, for mine that Air France lost in 1966? It’s the only bag that’s never, ever, come home. If they find the bag I’ll bet they could even find me.
Oh, heck, if it’s really hopeless I think I’ll just keep using my carry-on garbage bag. I’m used to it now.
Sorry PM, but there is no hope for that bag. Time to buy another, I think!
