Thousands of flights, mostly to and from Northeast destinations have been cancelled because of the Sunday, Feb. 15 storm that will heavily affect already-affected airports including Boston, the 3 NYC airports and more.
But that’s not the end of it. For example, 40 flights out of Ft. Lauderdale have been cancelled, mostly to Northeast destinations. But other areas will be affected because planes and crews to serve them may be stranded elsewhere in the system.
Most carriers, major and minor, are waiving change fees in the emergency; it’s not only good customer relations, it can also relieve the catch-up load later if passengers can use alternate routings now.
