City skylines can look the same after a while, but seeing them at night is a different experience again. As part of a USA trip, I wanted to visit as many iconic skyscrapers as I could. The Sears Tower in Chicago was on my list and I couldn’t resist taking the elevator up to the observation deck to take in the view.
What a beautiful sight it was too. The lights of the city stretched out in all directions and Lake Michigan resembled a dark pane of glass. I’m not normally one for heights but I braved it and got to witness a city in all its evening splendor. Now, I’m not going to compare Chicago with New York or any other large US city (I’ll let the locals do that), but I will say I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my visit there immensely. For anyone from Chicago, I LOVE your city!
