JetBlue, originally noted for blue corn chips and friendly service on its one-class flights seems to be headed in a whole new direction.
In addition to recently adding its business-class “Mint” service on longer flights, it now charges for checked bags and other fees.
And, starting later this spring, the Mint service will feature small-batch California wines selected by expert Jon Bonne, and a variety of items on a tapas-style menu created by chef Brad Farmerie of New York’s trendy Saxon+Parole. Brooklyn has a spot on the menu, too, with locally-produced Blue Marble ice cream (blue…natch!) and coffee from Brooklyn Roasting Company.
We assume (hope?) there will still be blue chips in the back of the plane.
