Alright, the headline is a bit of a strain, and the graphic above, prepared by the Russian Interior Ministry, has almost nothing to do with playing with pistols.
But Russia has noticed a growing number of deaths caused by people doing stupid things while trying to take selfies, or just not paying attention to danger. That’s included some high-profile ones, like the two men who blew themselves up playing with a live grenade, a teen electrocuted on a railway bridge, people falling off towers…and yes, a woman who accidentally shot herself with a revolver while taking a selfie.
The interior ministry spokesman said: “Before taking a selfie, everyone should think about the fact that racing after a high number of ’likes’ could lead someone on a journey to death and his last extreme photo could turn out to be posthumous.”
