Where in the World is TravelGumbo (#126)

 WITW 126B

Gumbo is on the move again, leaving behind the beautiful cathedrals of Europe and visiting a  rustic place, but one with a unique charm.   Some things about his location may seem obvious, others not.

As usual, we ask that you not jump too quickly if you’re sure you have the answer; give others time to chime in and see if you can all find your way to the end.  More clues will follow daily and I think we’ll have a number of people who solve the puzzle.

THE RULES

  1. Share your suggestions, hints, observations and discussions with others by posting them here as comments…
  2. If you absolutely know what and where it is….please give others some time to work on it  before you pounce.  Email us your answer to [email protected].  We acknowledge everyone who correctly answers the puzzle when the “reveal” is posted and in the order these answers are received.
  3. To post here, you need to be a member…but that’s free and easy.  Just click HERE

So,  where is Gumbo visiting today?  We’re looking for the name of a specific building in this puzzle.

Curiouser and curiouser! American West, I’d say, because of the four-legged creature.

All those gables? Now, is that a lodge or a museum of some sort?

You’ve stumped us. Can’t wait to see where this is.

My best guess is a US Park lodge somewhere out west.

I think I know where this is, as I plan to go to the area in September and looked at relevant websites yesterday, hence I think I have the answer. Unfortunately, I cannot e-mail it to [email protected]., as my server is down for repairs.

Looks like a mountain lodge somewhere. Even reminds me of one staircase in the lodge I just visited on Mt. Hood. What kind of wood is that? Anyone know? That could help us locate this place. Is it Old World wood?

Doesn’t look Old World to me. I’m going to bet a couple of chips on Colorado.
