According to Chinese State media, plans for a Boeing factory in China have been submitted to the government in Beijing. This would be a departure from what Boeing has said in the past about not opening a factory there. President Xi Jinping’s of China plans on visiting the Boeing factory in Washington tomorrow, so we will be checking to see if any announcement is forthcoming at the event.
Airbus already has a factory in the northern port of Tianjin and plans to open a new completion and delivery center in China too.
