French Embassy in London Fights to Block Tycoon’s Basement Car Museum

The French government has called Jon Hunt’s plans for a car museum in a new mega-basement in his mansion a threat to the integrity and security of the French Embassy in London. French lawyers are trying to block the remodeling in court and stated: “The over-sized proposed development at No 10 Kensington Palace Gardens is threatening directly the integrity and the security of our building in contravention of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961.”

 

Jon Hunt, billionaire founder of Foxtons, and his wife have already started remodeling their mansion next to the French Embassy in London, including the basement museum for their vintage cars.The court said it will decide this case soon after the two day hearing.

The French slow to complain??  Can’t say I’ve heard that recently.

 

But I don’t see how this car museum is a threat to French security.  Certainly they must have constructed a secure facility.
