Central Paris to get express rail link to Charles-de-Gaulle airport

Gare du Nord- Paris

After decades of discussion, France announced yesterday that it will build a high-speed rail link between central Paris and the Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) airport.

The link named “CDG Express” is to be completed by 2023 and cost an estimated $1.77 billion.

Right now, the only rail link from central Paris to the airport is the RER B line, which also acts as a commuter line.  Airport passengers have complained of overcrowding, too many stops, lack of security and no room for bags.
