Parking isn’t easy in any big city, and London seems one of the most difficult…but clearly, where there’s a will there’s a way, if your car is short enough. We’ve seen this one parked this way nearly every day of our stay.
Desert View Watchtower, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
A visit to the Desert View Watchtower on the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Constructed in the 1930s, it offers magnificent canyon views and a tie to the Native American history of the Canyon.
The vehicle in the crash is actually not a Smart, but the point about tiny cars is true: in the late 1950s in Germany, we saw pictures of highway crashes involving the little BMW Isetta, similar in size to the Smart and just as underpowered…the results were horrific.
They may be easy to park, but they’re the last place you want to be in an accident — which are plentiful in all cities. I find the following photo of interest. Seems the motorcycle fared much better than the smartcar! So thanks, but no thanks. I want to be surrounded by a more substantial vehicle when traveling at high speed.
