Pokeshaw Communal Park is in Gloucester County, New Brunswick. It’s a wonderful place for photographers because the park really shows off the beauty of the Acadian coastline. The cost of parking in the park is $2 CAD.
The park includes a beach and a large rock island, Pokeshaw Island, also known as Bird Island because of all the birds that flock there.
It is also a great place to look for sea glass as we discovered. Sea glass is made when glass is discarded in the ocean and has been in a constant surf environment for 7 -10 years. People make jewelry and art out of the glass and it’s fun finding it. Sea glass is becoming harder to find and more collectable because more products are made out of plastics.
It’s so true that it’s getting harder to find sea glass! I’m glad to hear you found some at Pokeshaw
