Definitely more a tourist attraction than the central market it once was, New Orleans’ French Market is a mix of crafts, cafes, cheesy souvenirs and more…and there’s even a small attempt at one end at an actual food market.
But our attention was quickly caught by this quirky fountain that pays homage to New Orleans musical traditions in a small plaza within the market…and nearby, a 19th-century bronze shopper waits patiently…
