British Airways is offering free rides for up to two children per adult ticket on a basket of destinations this summer, hoping to attract business to routes that normally have low summer traffic.
The seats are available from June through the end of October on flights to Belfast, Edinburgh, Inverness, Leeds/Bradford and Newcastle, and one non-UK destination, Billund, in Denmark, home of the original Legoland.
The Telegraph (UK) has done some comparison shopping and found that for Billund, the BA tickets look more expensive than Ryanair, but when you include the tickets for two children and required seating fees and the rest, it comes out to about the same…and the BA fare includes checked bags. Similar results come up for other flights.
