Houston adds ‘wayfinding’ tech to its airports

Houston’s two airports have offered free Wi-Fi for several years, and now they’ve added a great accessory to go with it: a complete wayfinding system to guide you to your gate, or counter, or shop or washroom, without downloading an app.

Developed by San Francisco-based LocusLabs, the system is the world’s first airport system that operates without an app. Users just go to the airport website and click on maps, then ‘interactive directions.”

The site also includes information on practically everything you could want in the terminals; click on food, for instance, and you’ll not only see the restaurants and information about them, but also the locations and contents of vending machines!
