Air France tries out VR entertainment

If just flying isn’t enough thrill for you, the next big thing may be virtual reality entertainment in flight. Air France is testing it now on limited flights, and may extend it to more after the test period.

For now, it’s only in business class between Paris and St. Martin in the Caribbean, and has only 4 headsets. The entertainment choices include about 40 films and series. The test is a partnership between AF and  VR supplier SkyLights.

One commenter on Japan Today’s website pointed out a possible future benefit: Kiwiboy commented “Virtual reality that tricks us economy passengers into thinking we’re in First Class might be nice!”
