Nov. 22, 2017: 8 Free Things to do in St. Louis

Part 2 of 2 For part 1, click HERE

Late summer this year we were happy to spend a week visiting family members and exploring a little more of the St. Louis area.  I started doing a little research about things to do, and was shocked at how many FREE things you can do in St. Louis. So of them are parks and such, but some are museums. I just had to do a post and share all of this with you guys.  Earlier this month I shared 4 of my top 8 things we had hoped to do during our visit. Today I am sharing the last 4 on our list. Hope you find it helpful when you visit St. Louis.

The Missouri History Museum

Missouri-history-museumThis museum contains information about the 1904 World’s Fair, the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the Charles Lindbergh’s flight across the Atlantic. I am related to John Colter of the Lew and Clark Expedition, and Gene is really into aviation, so this is definitely on both or our to-do lists.

Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tours

Anheuser-Busch-BreweryWe have done this a couple of times, but it’s always fun. We even visited once during their Holiday Brewery Lights. The tours and samples are free so how can you go wrong? lol Probably don’t need to say, but you do have to be 21 for the free samples.

Cathedral Basilica

St.-Lous-BasillicaWhile in the area we are going to try to check out the Cathedral Basilica.  Apparently it is more than just a church and the home of one of the largest collection of mosaics in the world. It took nearly 80 years to install the more than 40 million mosaic glass pieces that adorn the inside of the church. Wow, that sounds so amazing. Hope we get to see it sometime.

Laumeier Sculpture Park

Laumeier-Sculpture-Park1This sounds like a fun park to check out while in the area. They have dozens of pieces of art spread out among the park’s 105 acres. There are also indoor galleries, special exhibits and family events. Definitely plan on checking this out while we are in the area for a future post.

Forest-ParkSo there you have the top 8 things that were on out to see list while in the area. I still can’t believe how many free things there are to do in the city of St Louis. Hope you get to check them out sometime. Happy travels
