Portugal’s national tourism board has a Christmas present for hikers and bikers and just plain walkers who want to explore and enjoy the byways of southern Portugal’s Algarve region: A new website with advice on 140 routes.
The site has advice on which trails to take, where and what to eat, and where to stay. Its aim is to show that the Algarve, known mostly for sun and beach, is also a great region for walking and cycling.
The site, which is in five languages, is a pilot project, and may be extended to more regions of Portugal in the future.
