Jan. 10, 2018: Mike the Tiger VII, LSU School Mascot

Last week we were in Louisiana and visited the state Capitol in Baton Rouge. While there we visited LSU to meet Mike the Tiger (their school mascot).  He is actually Mike VII, and is so gorgeous.

According to some locals, he has been at the school since August of 2017 and seems to like his on campus habitat. It has a mixture of land and water and he was very happy to run between them. It was really cold while we were there, but he didn’t seem to mind the cold water one bit. Apparently he is a Bengal–Siberian mix tiger, so that might be part of it, lol.

He is still pretty young and definitely full of energy. A lot of that energy was spent on chasing the kids back and forth as they went from window to window. I enjoyed watching him and couldn’t help but think how our dogs would have reacted to him, lol. If you are in the area, go and meet Mike. He is fun to watch.
