Disney World is cancelling a budget-friendly perk at its Orlando-area resorts. As of today, there’s no more free overnight parking for hotel guests at Disney-operated hotels.
The new charges apply to all reservations made starting today, March 21st. At Disney’s deluxe/villa hotels, the charge will be $24 a night. At its ‘moderate’ hotels the fee will be $19, and $13 at ‘value’ hotels. Daytime parking will still be free for visitors using restaurants and other features at the hotels, and parking at the theme park areas will still be free for hotel guests.
Disney is not unique; other Orlando attractions, including the hotels at Universal Orlando also have charges, as do Disney hotels at some of its other parks. Still, it does make what has become a very expensive family trip even more so, with even the cheapest overnight parking now going for nearly $100 a week.
Members of Disney’s Disney Vacation Plan saying at deluxe or villa resorts will not pay the charge.
