Why You Should Choose to Go Melbourne for Your School Trip

Melbourne is a place that has a lot to offer both in the city as well as its surroundings. There are many tours available for you, be it a sports tour, a wildlife tour, a gourmet food tour or a sightseeing tour. The availability of these tours will make it very easy for students to organize a trip that is well informative and worthwhile. Here are some of the places you can take tours to explore in Melbourne.

Wildlife

There are many Melbourne excursion ideas, but let’s start with the most interesting one, that being wildlife. The number one tour you can take to explore wildlife is the one available at Phillip Islands Wildlife Park, it has over 100 different species of Australian wildlife and you get to experience the wildlife in their natural habitat. It gives you the opportunity to feed and pat different types of Kangaroos that roam around the grounds. The opportunity to see Koala’s and their babies that ride in their pouch close up. Phillip Islands lets you witness the magical experience of the penguin parade; it is where the little penguins return to shore after a day of fishing.

Shrine of Remembrance

This will give the young minds the opportunity to learn about the nation’s history, the shrine of remembrance is known to be a building with a soul. The veterans of the First World War designed the shrine of remembrance, allowing you to now see panoramic views of Melbourne. It is said that below the inner sanctum, there are galleries containing over 800 historical artifacts and the personal effects of the Australians at war.

Sightseeing

There are many famous attractions to be seen in Melbourne, such as museums and other beautifully designed buildings. There are many tours that will show you the most prominent galleries such as the Nation Gallery of Victoria, it is the oldest art gallery in Australia and has wide ranges of artworks from around the globe. Then you get the Heide Museum of Modern Art, it contains some of the most creative figures in Australian art and culture. When it comes to buildings with beautiful architecture, along with the Shrine of remembrance, the new buildings such as Federation Square comes to mind, it is a venue used for many events including festivals and is the home of the Ian Potter Centre, which is the world’s first major gallery. Then we have the Eureka tower, which is named after Eureka Stockade, the building is designed with a gold crown and a red stripe to represent the blood split during the revolt. It is currently the building with most floors, leaving you with an extraordinary view.

These are few of the reasons why I recommend using your school trip as an opportunity to explore Melbourne, after reading the above you will have knowledge on the things you will be able to witness and learn. I do believe after you do a little more research on the city, you will find things that will interest you, leaving you nothing but convinced to explore this city and be enlightened with the outcome.
