Copenhagen Zoo gets ready for ‘panda-monium’

Large crowds are expected next month when two of Denmark’s newest residents are ready to receive visitors in their new home at the Copenhagen Zoo. The two, Mao Sun and Zing Er, are Denmark’s first-ever giant pandas.

Arriving April 4th, the two animals, a gift of the Chinese government to Queen Margrethe and her husband in 2014, will move into a newly-built home, and have a few days to get used to it before the Queen, the Prime Minister and an official delegation call on them, along with Crown Princess Mary, who was just named as the Zoo’s royal protector.

The next day, the public will be invited in to see both the pandas and their newly-built home.
