At the end of a tiring hike in Peru’s Sacred Valley (of the Incas), we came across some people planting potatoes.
Done the old-fashioned way, the field is plowed with oxen, then the seed potatoes are planted by hand and covered with dirt. The crop is usually planted in Sept – Oct, and harvested about a half year later.
Travel is such an education. So many people struggle at their daily tasks. We should all be thankful for our “easy” lives in comparison.
