Alaska Airlines is adding its tenth destination city from Seattle’s Paine Field, with service starting in November to Spokane, Washington, which also serves Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Paine Field, in Everett, north of Seattle, has only been in service a few months as a second commercial airport for Seattle, opening in early March with flights by Alaska and United. Alaska’s other Paine Field destinations include Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland and several California cities. So far, Alaska has handled 300,000 passengers at Paine.
The field, which is also Boeing’s delivery airport for large jets, allows north-of-Seattle passengers to avoid a long trip to Sea-Tax, which is south of the city and which involves traveling through the city.
