The North Yorkshire Coast

The coast of North Yorkshire offers endless possibilities for landscape (seascape !) and wildlife photographers due to its changing geology and sea life. This is a compilation of recent images showing different aspects of this north sea coast.

Flamborough Head is renowned for its chalk cliffs and spectacular erosion patterns…

Nearby Bempton Cliffs are a seasonal home to varied sea birds who nest and breed on their steep, almost vertical cliffs. The RSPB – Royal Society for the Protection of Birds manage this site wonderfully, with many safe walking pathways and vantage areas to view the abundant bird life….

Saltburn by the Sea is a coastal town with a strong Victorian spa heritage, with a pier, positioned in a natural bay. It often enjoys varied and stunning north sea sky sunsets, and is a great favourite of beach walkers.
