Cruise lines are planning lots of ’round-the-world’ cruise itineraries, lasting three to six months or occasionally longer, but most of them are now being postponed from next year to 2022.
The long itineraries, which used to be far less common, are being offered by lines with both smaller ships, such as Viking, Regent, Celebrity and Silversea and by big ship operators including Cunard, Holland America and Princess.
Despite uncertainty over when even short cruises will return. the long cruises have been drawing a lot of customer interest. Most round-the-world passengers book for several weeks of the itinerary rather than the whole cruise.
Round-the-World cruise prices range from 111 days on Princess for just under $21,000 to 117 days on Regent starting from almost $70,000. The longest itineraries offered are 161 days by Viking and 180 days on Oceania.
