A few years ago, the Jefferson, Texas Historical Society and Museum acquired the R. D. Moses Model Railroad, a T&P HO gauge layout depicting West Texas along the Texas & Pacific Railway in the 1950s.
It took Mr. Moses and a friend more than 30 years to create.
The amazing display is housed in a building resembling a 1900 train depot located directly behind the main museum building.
Communities, the oil industry, and farming are featured. The details of the layout are amazing.
Jefferson’s Cypress Bayou Model Train Club was instrumental in getting the model railroad layout to Jefferson, and the club is committed to operate and maintain the layout for the museum.
Jefferson Historical Museum is located at 223 W. Austin Street. For more information, check the website jeffesonmuseum.net or call 903-665-2775.
Love these models!
I could spend all day there . I’d have to give my wife my credit card for the day. Ask her to come back later…maybe.
