While the big-ship lines haven’t signed on to the idea of only accepting vaccinated passengers, as a number of smaller lines have, some of the biggest are promising fully-vaccinated crews when they sail again.
Costa Cruises, Carnival’s Italian subsidiary, will be sailing again in Europe on March 27, and has pledged to have all crew members vaccinated by then, or quarantined until they are.
Royal Caribbean and Norwegian have also announced that their crew members will be required to be fully vaccinated before boarding ships; dates have not been set for them to resume cruising.
Given that a recent survey among air passengers indicated that two-thirds or more want all passengers and crew on flights to be vaccinated, it seems likely that there will be growing support for all-vax cruises as well.
