Holland America links Alaska, Hawaii

Holland America cruise line has come up with an unusual itinerary, linking together the two U.S. states not linked to the rest of the country in one month-long cruise.

Starting from Seattle in late August 2025, the Westerdam will sail Alaska’s Inside Passage and then move on to stops at Anchorage and along the Aleutian Peninsula, ending with the fishing port of Dutch Harbor, famed as the scene of TV’s The Deadliest Catch.

From there, it makes a shortened Pacific crossing to Hawaii, with stops at Nawiliwili on Kauai, Honolulu and two stops on the ‘Big Island’ of Hawaii at Kona and Hilo, with views of the Kilauea volcano. The cruise ends back in Seattle.
